Coworking spaces are the new rage in Hong Kong. A few years ago, they didn’t exist in the city. Now, just a quick search on Google brings a neverending list of results. There are big coworking spaces, small coworking spaces, global coworking spaces and local coworking spaces. Where do you start? Think no more, because a new spot by the name of Ho Sze Kwong has popped up in Kwun Tong. It’s still relatively unknown, so head down now to enjoy the casual, airy atmosphere at its best.
Those who aren’t Chinese may not get the name Ho Sze Kwong. Translated to Cantonese, the phrase means “good times”. The concept of the coworking space is straightforward: the owners simply want to provide a comfortable space in an open and green environment for people to work.

Thanks to its location away from the central business district, Ho Sze Kwong proves spacious and airy in contrast to the many coworking spaces on Hong Kong Island. It occupies a whole floor in an industrial building, taking advantage of the expansive window that lines the outer end of the large room. During the day, sunlight spills indoors, highlighting the minimalist setting of neutral toned furniture and countless green plants. There’s also a pantry filled with snacks that you can binge on endlessly at no extra charge. Open and relaxed environment as envisioned by the owners, check!
Ho Sze Kwong may not be as convenient in terms of location as its competitors, but it doesn’t lose out. It’s photogenic, it’s budget-friendly and best of all, it’s free from the crowds. If you’re trying to find somewhere quiet to #getshitdone, well, now you know just the spot.
