The weekend always means that Causeway Bay is a bustling flurry of activity. While the lively neighbourhood is perfect for eating and shopping, it’s not exactly where you would go if you want a quiet afternoon to yourself. The thing about the area, though, is that it offers every type of shop available. A resting spot is not easy to find, but if you know where to look, you’ll eventually stumble upon Just Café.
Just Café is an upstairs coffee shop opened by a community of Christians. If you’re looking for a place to rest, work or have a private meeting with your friends, I highly recommend it. After all, a location away from the crowds is almost nonexistent in Causeway Bay. I can’t comment on the food because I only had a mint tea, but the owners were super nice! Just Café definitely gets an A+ for service from me.
My Instagram husband and I settled in Just Café after locating it by mistake while looking for a place to work. Despite discovering the family-owned eatery by accident, it turned out surprisingly pleasant. The interior architecture of Just Café is modest and simple. Decor has been kept at a minimum and the design embraces the space’s natural white walls. Around the café, wooden chairs and tables are lined up in loose rows, and at the end of the room where the large windows are, are light green couches for those to wish to lounge. For me, it was the perfect spot away from the crowds on a rainy, Saturday afternoon.
The two of us stayed at Just Café for several hours but were trapped in until 6PM because the sky began pouring. Neither my Instagram husband nor I had an umbrella, but the staff were friendly enough to offer us one (we declined). At least it was a day well spent because we didn’t waste any sunshine! Also, because was dark outside thanks to the storm, my photos turned out all wonky with bad lighting. Apologies! 🙁
