I love Mean Girls and all, but if there’s one thing that Regina George and I disagree on, it’s only wearing pink on Wednesdays. Since the end of last year, I’ve been crazy about pink tones like rose quartz and blush. I’ve worn outfits in these feminine shades here and there. And finally, it’s time for the grand finale: a full-on guide to wearing pink, pink and only pink.
The idea of wearing pink head-to-toe came when I purchased a blush pair of Adidas Superstars. I’d been trying to find these babies in store for a long time, and during the search period, I’d accumulated a lot of outfit ideas in my mind. This pink put-together is only one of those ideas – stay tuned for more down the road!

The first step to wearing pink is, of course, your top. Be it a t-shirt, a tank top or a jumper like mine, make sure it’s pink. You have no idea how many tops in various shades of pink I tried on before I decided on the one I did. I wanted the exact tone to match with my other coordinates. After a two-hour battle producing a huge pile of discarded items, I finally settled on the H&M pink jumper which is suitable for the spring weather. It’s perfect as it’s slightly grey in hue so it’s not overly feminine, which I personally can’t handle.
Cropped denim jeans
The initial picture in my mind for my all-pink outfit was with white skinny jeans… which I don’t actually own a pair of. In the end, I decided to match my pink jumper with the Zara Kids basic slim jeans, a choice that exceeded my expectations as they added a slight masculine touch to my setup. Here’s my advice: it doesn’t matter what type or colour your bottoms are, as long as they aren’t pink like your top. Hell, go for yellow or orange pants if you must – just make sure to break up the pink colour.
It sounds stupid, but because I love my pink Adidas Superstars so much, I refuse to wear them regularly to avoiding dirtying them. As a result, I’ve only worn the babies once since writing this fashion blog post and visiting Waterfall Bay. These trainers are the stars of the show, and what inspired me to put together this outfit. They’re comfortable and add on to the casual element to balance the pinkness I’m sporting. When you’re grabbing your shoes, make sure that everything is coordinated by going for a pair that’s the same shade of pink as your top.
Pink crossbody bag
Our last step to wearing pink correctly is nothing short of obvious – choose a pink bag. I stumbled across Pop & Suki’s crossbody bags while browsing around and have been yearning for their items ever since. Unfortunately, the brand is way out of my budget at the moment without even including additional international shipping. In the end, I got on trusty Taobao.com to find a dupe that looks almost the same. Check out my Bagzoo crossbody bag in pink, which only cost me around HKD$200. I had to DIY the shoulder strap by adding my own gold chain as I hated the one provided, but overall, the bag’s a steal for sure!
I’m not a girly-girl at all. I’m lazy with my skincare, lazy with my makeup and lazy with my fashion. Wearing pink, especially all-pink, is a challenge for me (first world problems to the extreme, lol). I think I did a good job in keeping it casual and balancing elements out with my jeans and trainers, though! How about you? Do you wear pink all the time or stay as far away from it as possible?
