Since moving in late August, I’ve taken a liking to Soho East due to its proximity to my new home. The laidback neighbourhood, located in Sai Wan Ho, features a range of waterfront restaurants, bars and cafés. Flanked by a park and a promenade, it is quite the destination for nearby residents and visitors during the weekend.
One of my favourite restaurants in Soho East is The Salted Pig. It’s named after its signature dish, the pork knuckle, but I am partial to its brunch offerings.
From substantial mains such as the ‘Fat Pig’ Breakfast For Two and the Deep Pan Margherita Pizza to lighter options like the Eggs Benedict and Smoked Salmon Avocado Toast, The Salted Pig’s food will fuel you right up for the rest of your day.
I even had the opportunity to interview the husband-and-wife owners of the restaurant for my day job – it was a true delight to meet them and hear about the story of The Salted Pig and its sister eateries.
Do head over to Soho East and check out The Salted Pig if you’re in the neighbourhood. You won’t be disappointed, I promise. 🙂

If you happened to bounce into Singapore you should try the pork rib soup which is known as 'Bak Kut Tay' '肉骨茶 ' in local parlance.
The rich soup is brewed in garlic, a few herbs and pepper. Eaten with steamed fragrant rice and preserved or fresh vegetables.
Specialty tea is brewed to accompany this rich aromatic soup.
A simple but robust soup.
